So I have decided, after starting to follow my friend Sarah's new blog about her starting her life with her husband in Syracuse, to reboot my little blog here. I moved back home in July to, in essence, hit the restart button on my life and recharge the batteries a little.
I spent the first month and a half cycling back and forth between doing absolutely nothing, catching up on television shows and actually reading a book in its entirety for the first time since the Harry Potter and Twilight Series, and driving back and forth from Delaware to retrieve the ridiculous amount of crap that I have accumulated over the past 8 years. I got to actually go on some family vacations that I haven't had the time off to make, spending some time up at The River with my Grandma Margo and then heading up to Canada with the Lacagnina clan to good ole Crotch Lake. After starting to go insane from sitting around by myself in my parents lovely but secluded house, yet not mentally prepared to re-enter "the real world," I've managed to become employed as both a banquet waitress working weddings (for, as fate would have it, many couples that I went to high school with) down the road at Bristol Harbour and as event staff at the New York Wine and Culinary Center (aka wino and foodie heaven). Two weeks in, I'm already starting to know that I won't be able to do it very long before both my sanity and my self worth begin to dwindle, but for now its both kinda fun. I am looking forward to watching the seasons change from the top of the hill. and will try to use this as a medium to share my discoveries with food, movies, music, books and other random thoughts that I feel may be worth sharing.
